Escorted short breaks to the UK

The UK boasts a stunning range of easy-to-reach slices of paradise. If you’ve got a few days, you’ve got all the time in the world!

You could search the world over for the perfect place, and yet there’s nothing quite like the comforting delights of being home. Or at least, close to home. If you are excited to explore more of the world, but perhaps venturing far out, or taking a plane, isn’t something your heart is set on - or your time and budget constraints! - there’s always the pleasure of taking a short break. Right here in the UK.

Spending a precious holiday in your home country does not need to be basic or uninspired. In fact, this small island we call home boasts such a magnificent, historic, and cultural range of sights and activities just waiting to be explored. Perhaps it’s summer, and you fancy a classic trip to the seaside. Or maybe it’s winter, and you fancy cosying up by a waterside pub. You could spend a good few days exploring Dorset and the UNESCO-listed Jurassic Coast, including the beauty spots of Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, or perhaps you can journey over to Wales to explore the isle of Anglesey.

Often find yourself settling into the couch with a historical documentary? Well, it’s time to live it. Take your passion for eras gone by into the field on a UK short holiday, and explore the rich tapestry of conflict, rule, trading, construction, and culture that makes up the UK. For that, we would recommend a stint in Kent, where you can discover a whole range of English Heritage sites, including Dover and Leeds castles, plus you can travel back in time at the Cinque Ports of Hythe and Rye or take an orientation walk of Canterbury, the birthplace of Christianity in England.

Perhaps a UK short break for you means immersing yourself in rugged natural surroundings. In that case, head up to the highlands. Scotland isn’t too far off, but it might as well be another world with its dramatic, glacially-carved peaks of the Hebrides and the dramatic valley passes of Glencoe. Wherever you choose to spend your short and sweet trip, just remember that the world doesn’t need to be your oyster, it can sometimes be your own backyard.
