Capri Tours & Holidays

Escorted tours and holidays to Capri

Straddling the coast just south of Naples, the rugged island of Capri might look imposing from the shoreline, but it's long been a favourite of the locals as a destination to escape from the bustle of the mainland.

Home to the ruins of Imperial Roman villas, iconic sea caves like the Blue Grotto, and secluded, rocky beaches perfect for a bit of seclusion, the prospect of a Capri holiday is enough to send anyone sailing into a daydream.

There’s plenty to see on the island, from beautiful churches that shine brightly under the Mediterranean sun, to the iconic sphinx of Villa San Michele. In terms of natural splendour the island and surrounding sea has an abundance, so even hardened travellers will remain in awe. The Fraglioni Rock formations jut out of the shimmering blue sea, and there are caves and grottos to explore, most notably Arco Natural and the aforementioned Blue Grotto. Heading on Newmarket Holidays’ Capri tours will make sure you get to see all the highlights.

More active holidaymakers will be pleased to know Capri is a great place to indulge in some water sports. There are also dozens of great walks around the island; some take you around the iconic coastline at a leisurely pace, and some are more challenging hikes up the jagged Mount Solaro. As long as you like good food, great wine, and even better scenery, you’re sure to love Capri.

Things to do in Capri

There are oh so many ways to get a slice of La Dolce Vita in this Italian hotspot

Food & Drink in Capri

While we’d recommend all the seafood in Capri, you can’t visit the island and not try Ravioli Capresi. This simple dish of cheese and pasta is light and tasty, and the subtle marjoram flavours elevate it to something unmissable.

The main square of Capri, the Piazzetta, is home to dozens of excellent cocktail bars, making it the ideal place to sit back with a negroni and watch the world go by. The late evening is the best time to visit, with the sun just starting to fade and day trippers leaving, creating a warm buzz you can only get in the Mediterranean.

You can’t visit Capri and not try the red seabream, also known as pezzogna. This local specialty is plentiful around the island and usually served fried with a glass of crisp white wine.
