As we edge our way through the winter, we’re looking ahead to warmer weather and brighter skies back home – and few places embody it quite like the world-famous Wimbledon Championships. To us, the games aren’t just about tennis – they’re one of the first markers that British summertime has arrived and are just as much about enjoying time-honoured traditions and indulgent afternoons in the sun. Better yet, with our brand-new events offer, you can secure your spot for 10% less using code EVENTS10!

As the Championships gear up for the 2025 tournament, we’ve been chatting with our Cruise and Events manager, Jack, for some expert insight on all things Wimbledon. From what makes our tour packages special to the best ways to make the most of your time in the UK’s capital, this is your one-stop guide to Britain’s most beloved sporting event. If you’d prefer to start from the beginning, you can also check out our first-timers' guide to the Championships, or take a look at our most popular FAQs. Back to Jack, though, here’s what he had to say:

What makes Newmarket Holidays’ Wimbledon packages unique?

Newmarket Holidays has a unique and exclusive partnership with the Championships Wimbledon, meaning we’re the only place you can guarantee a reserved seat on No.1 Court for the last weekend. We have a range of two- and three-day packages featuring tickets, hotels, and transfers.

What types of tickets are included in the Wimbledon packages?

A reserved seat on No.1 Court is included in all Newmarket Holidays Wimbledon packages. This ticket also grants access to the Wimbledon grounds and all other open courts.

Although the order of play isn’t confirmed until the day and is subject to change, on the Friday, No.1 Court usually showcases some of the semi-finals of the main doubles competitions. Saturday and Sunday tend to have a mix of upcoming stars and fan favourites in the Junior finals and Invitation events.

Can customers choose which day of the tournament to attend?

Yes, we offer packages to the Championships Wimbledon finals with tickets available on No. 1 Court for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday tennis.

How do customers get to the matches?

Our range of packages means that you choose the best way to get to/from Wimbledon. We have two- and three-day coach-inclusive packages with transfers to/from your chosen hotel. Similarly, we also have two- and three-day ‘make your own way’ packages available whereby you have the freedom and flexibility to travel to/ from your chosen central London accommodation to the Championships yourself.

Are the packages suitable for solo travellers, couples, and groups?

Our packages are suitable for anyone, whether you’re a tennis fanatic, getting into the sport, or just want to soak up the atmosphere of the finals weekend with strawberries and cream and some celeb spotting!

Are there any exclusive experiences included in the itinerary?

Newmarket Holidays is the only place you can guarantee a Court No.1 ticket to the Championships Wimbledon, otherwise, you’re trying your luck in the Ballot or joining the queue on the day of tennis. Our unique and complete travel packages take this stress away and are not available with any other tour operator in the UK.

What accommodation options are available?

Our two- and three-day packages feature accommodation all over the city and beyond, meaning you can take the opportunity to enjoy the highlights of London during your stay, or if you prefer, stay somewhere quieter outside of the city with transfers included to/from your hotel.

What should customers wear and bring to Wimbledon?

There is no official dress code for Wimbledon spectators, however, dressing smartly is encouraged, especially on Court No. 1.

While Wimbledon has a wide range of food and drink options available on site (I’d definitely recommend some strawberries and cream), those attending are able to bring their own food, although, picnic hampers and cool boxes are not permitted. When it comes to alcohol, you’re limited to one bottle of wine (750ml) or two cans of beer per person. I’d also suggest bringing a refillable water bottle for the day – Wimbledon has plenty of refill stations all over the grounds.

Food and drink aside, please remember to bring your ticket, and a valid form of photo I.D. If bringing a bag, it should be no larger than 40 cm x 30 cm x 30 cm.

How can customers make the most of their Wimbledon experience?

The beauty of your day at Wimbledon, is that you’re able to make it your own! Your ticket will grant you access to all the action on Court No.1, but you’re free to watch tennis on the outside courts, or even catch some of the action of Centre Court from Henman Hill.

On arrival, I’d suggest using your time to explore the grounds and soak in the atmosphere. Perhaps explore the Southern Village, which is now a hub of activity, with food, drink, large screen and various fan experiences all available. The Walled Garden is also a great spot to take a seat and grab some refreshments, plus it’s located right next to Court No.1.

I’m a bit of a sucker for some merch, so would always suggest a stop by the Wimbledon shop to grab a souvenir from your visit – I usually go for a cap!

Will there be someone to guide customers during the trip?

Our coach-inclusive packages include a Newmarket Holidays tour manager/representative who’ll meet you at the hotel and accompany you on your transfers to/from the Championships. While they’ll remain on site, you’ll be free to explore all that Wimbledon has to offer independently and at your own pace.

Newmarket Holidays will have staff on-site at Wimbledon at the coach drop-off point (next to Gate 12) for all customers should you have any questions or require any assistance.
